i think ds is a useless piece of poo i fliping bought one and it has damn bad graphics. have you heard of this pussy game called nintendogs it sucks ass dont buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![:@]

The DS is totally different from the PSP> I have both and they both have their good games. The smaller screen on the DS is lower resolution than the PSP so the graphics would suffer a little. The Touch Screen (and games that creatively use it) make the DS an innovative games platform. I am not saying the PSP is not innovative, but as far as games are concerned you are pretty much getting PS2 type gameplay on the move.
Personally I liked Nintendogs (though I would admit that it is not for everyone). The use of the microphone to teach the dog tricks works very well.
The PSP is great for movies, music and games on the move. The DS is great for new ideas in gaming.
I suppose the PSP is more versatile than the DS, but that is not to say that it the PSP is a superior machine. You are paying for those features. The DS does at least have access to a huge back catalogue of GBA games to add to the DS games and it is half the price of a PSP.
